Are you currently in a job that doesn’t interest you anymore? Are you envious of the photographers you follow on social media? Are you longing for the day to quit your current job and become a full time wedding & portrait photographer? Or, are you currently a full time photographer and feel like you need a good kickstart and some honest inspiration for your business? If so, you’re in good company as I know EXACTLY how you feel.
Join me and connect with other photographers who are in the same boat, on this full, 12 hour day if you are wanting to be inspired, learn more about how to pursue what you love to do and support yourself doing so. I will be sharing my story of my how I started shooting eight years ago while holding down a full time corporate job and how I’ve made it work, supporting my family as a full time photographer in this overly saturated Southern California wedding market.
One of the biggest reasons for creating this workshop is, over the past eight years of my photography career, I’ve been so jaded by others who teach that there is a “magical formula” to book 30 weddings and make a lot of money right away as a newer photographer… that couldn’t be further from the truth. I want to share my story, my mistakes, my approach to business, my shooting style as well as my thoughts and advice on how it takes time, patience and a lot of hard work to do what you love. I want to help inspire you to pursue your passion and be happy about going to work every day.
This FULL day workshop will consist of some classroom time, lunch & dinner and a live photo session with a real couple posing as a bride and groom. Some topics that will be covered are…
• How I run my business
• Attracting the right clients & booking weddings
• Client interaction
• Shooting on location
• Natural light in-camera manipulation
• Posing real people, not professional models
• Post processing & workflow
• One-on-one critiques*
* One-on-one personal photo critiques will be available on Sunday, May 17th for $200 per person. Here’s your chance to have a whole hour with me to go over the photos you shot during the workshop and/or any others you’d like to share. You can choose this additional option when you register.
For our live shoot, we will use a real, in-love couple instead of professional models, to show you how I typically work with a real bride and groom. They will have professional hair & makeup, florals and a styled wardrobe with a real wedding dress. This is going to be a great opportunity for some portfolio work of a bride and groom without the stress of a wedding day.
Snacks, lunch and dinner will be provided along with some other surprises.

This workshop will be held at my studio in Old Town Irvine, California, in a 125-year-old lima bean factory where I’m blessed to work during the week and meet with clients. This unique space, with older architecture and rich history, helps to inspire and foster creativity within me and my work and I’m excited to share it with you.
Finally, if you need to know ONE THING about this workshop… it is NOT a “magical step 1-5 and now you’re booking 30 weddings a year” type of workshop. This is about how it’s worked for me in the real world of owning my own business and shooting for the past 8 years… 6 of those years being full-time and the last 3 years supporting a family of four with one income.
I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to help others and I’d love to see you there!

Frequently Asked Questions…
If I’m already a full-time photographer can I attend this workshop?
Yes, of course! There will still be some great business advice, you can see how I shoot and my post processing workflow as well as connect with other photographers.
Is there an age limit to enter the event?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years of age.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is plenty of parking at the venue and you are responsible for your own transportation.
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
You can bring your camera(s) and laptop because we will be shooting and you may be doing some editing of your own. Writing materials for notes will be provided.
Is this a digital or film photography workshop?
Neither. You can shoot digital or film as do I… I am a hybrid shooter. I may or may not be shooting film, but mostly digital so I can share my post processing techniques. This is more about how I shoot, not what camera I shoot with.
